Reservations:
All reservations are made based on the vehicle category and not for a specific model. In case of non-availability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, Theocar reserves the right to provide  the customer a higher category car, at no extra charge.

Driver:
23 years old is the minimum age requirement for using cars of categories A,B,C,C1,CD,D,D1,D2,DD, DSW,G,G1,G2,G3,GM,K,K1,KC, KD and 25 years of age is the minimum  age requirement for the rest of car categories.

Driving license:
The driver must have a valid license for driving in the Greek territory and the E.U., issued at least 1 year prior to the rental’s starting date. Citizens of countries outside the E.U. are required to be in possession of a valid international driving license, along with their national driving license.

Traffic tickets – Fines:
Traffic tickets and fines due to violations of the Highway Code are borne by the Renter. In addition, the Renter undertakes the payment of management costs, where required.

Means of Payment:
Rental is prepaid by cash or by credit/debit card.

Deposit for Guarantee:

Upon pick up of the vehicle, Theocar will preauthorise an amount from the driver’s credit card as a deposit for guarantee which will be fully refunded at the end of the rental, provided no other charges arise. The credit card must have been issued on the name of the driver, it must be presented at the time of vehicle pick-up and be valid at that time.

Cancellations
Cancellation of a reservation must be done at least forty eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled date and hour of the vehicle’s rental (always according to the exact hour of reservation), as this has been made in the company’s reservations system. Should you wish to cancel a reservation, you should contact the company through the reservations system.

The following charges shall apply for the cancellation of reservations:

In case of a cancellation notice received by Theocar at least forty eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled vehicle’s rental, any amount prepaid shall be refunded.

In case of a cancellation notice received by Theocar less than forty eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled vehicle’s rental, there shall be no refund of any amount that may have been prepaid.

After hours deliveries – collections:
Customer extra charge: 25€.

Out of station deliveries – collections:
Deliveries and collections out of stations take place upon request by the customer and extra charges apply.

Additional driver:
The 2^nd driver is free of charge. For the 3rd additional driver the charge is 4€/day. The maximum number of drivers is set to 3 persons.

GPS: The charge for GPS is set at 5€/day, upon request by the customer and based on the company’s availability; the maximum charge is set at 40€/rental.

Child seat:
The charge for child seat is set at 5€/day upon request by the customer and based on the company’s availability; the maximum charge is set at 40€/rental.

Snow chains:
The charge for snow chains is set at 10€/day upon request by the customer and based on the company’s availability; the maximum charge is set at 60€/rental.

Fuel:
The renter has to return the car with the same quantity of fuel it had when collected. In case the car is returned with a quantity of fuel less than the original (namely, less than the quantity of fuel the vehicle had when collected by the customer), the customer shall be charged with the fuel difference. No customer refund is provided in case of the car returned with a quantity of fuel greater than that collected.

Mileage:
Free mileage is provided for rentals of more than 3 days’ duration. For rentals of a duration less than 3 days, prices include a 100 km/day limitation. In the latter case, should the renter wish for free mileage, it can opt for the free mileage package, at a charge according to the pricelist applicable from time to time. Otherwise, for each additional kilometer over and above 100km/day, the customer will be charged, upon return of the vehicle, with an amount of 0.05€+VAT per kilometer for passenger cars, or with 0.15€+VAT per km for minivans.

Accident:
In case of an accident, the customer is charged with 15€ for the accident file administration costs.

INSURANCES:

CDW – Collision Damage Waiver:

The renter is released of the liability for any car damage or in the event of theft:

• over 600€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the A,B,C,C1,CD,D,D1,D2,DD,G,G1,G2,G3,GM,K,K1,KD categories
• over 800€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the DSW,F5D,F7D,FFD,H,H1,H2D,J,J2,J2D,JM,KC categories
• over 1200€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract for the F,F2,F2D,F3D,FF1,FF2,J1,J3,L categories

As a necessary condition for release from liability, the damage must be proven not to have been caused by a Highway Code violation.

What’s not covered?

• Damage caused intentionally or by negligence.
• Damage caused by incorrect fuel.
• Damage caused as a result of a breach of the rental agreement’s terms and conditions.
• Damage caused as a result of fire, natural disasters and terrorist attacks.
• Damage to the car interior.
• Glass breakage.
• Damage caused to the underneath and the top of the car, the antenna, the mirrors and the tires.

SCDW – Super Collision Damage Waiver:

The renter is released of the liability for any car damage or  in the event of theft:

• over 300€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 6€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories A,B,C,C1,CD,D,D1,D2,DD,G,G1,G2,G3,GM,K,K1,KD
• over 450€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 6€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories DSW,F5D,F7D,FFD,H,H1,H2D,J,J2,J2D,JM,KC
• over 650€+VAT provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of 12€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories F,F2,F2D,F3D,FF1,FF2,J1,J3,L

As a necessary condition for release from liability, the damage must be proven not to have been caused by a Highway Code violation.

The renter is fully released of the liability for any car damage provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of:

• 12€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories A,B,C,C1,CD,D,D1,D2,DD,G,G1,G2,G3,GM,K,K1,KD, DSW,F5D,F7D,FFD,H,H1,H2D,J,J2, J2D,JM,KC.
• 20€ on top of the CDW for each rental day in respect of the categories F,F2,F2D,F3D,FF1,FF2, J1,J3,L.

As a necessary condition for release from liability, the damage must be proven not to have been caused by a Highway Code violation.

PAI – Personal Accident Insurance:

The renter is not covered by a “Driver’s Insurance” (PAI), unless he/she accepts and signs the relevant term of the company’s contract and pays the amount of: 10€/ rental day for all categories of vehicles.

Maximum amount of insurance compensation payable: 15,000 Euros.

Insurance Limits:

Vehicles are insured against third parties (excluding the driver) for death and bodily harm up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand Euros (1,220,000.00€) per accident and for material damages by third parties (excluding the THEOCAR vehicle) up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand Euros (1,220,000.00€). In case of change of the above limits, the minimum limits, as defined by the applicable Greek legislation, shall always apply. Damages exceeding the insurance coverage limit, or excluded by it, shall be fully paid by the customer.

WUG: Wheels, Underside & Glass break coverage:

The renter is fully released of the liability for any damage to the car’s tires, the underside of the car or the glasses of the car only provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of:

10€/ rental day for all the categories.

Theft / Fire:

The renter is fully released of the liability for any damage to the car in the event of fire or theft, provided he/she accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company’s contract and pays the amount of: 10€/ rental day for all the categories.

Main condition for the above coverage is the absence of negligence, even slight, or of unlawful conduct during the vehicle’s rental.

Road Assistance:
Theocar  cars are covered by 24hours road assistance. Road assistance’s contact details are stated on the rental contract.

Car transport out of the country:

Transport and driving of the car outside the borders of the Greek Territory is prohibited. Driving of the car out of the country is allowed exceptionally and only upon written permission by the company and payment of the amount which the company shall determine in each case.

Car transport by ship:

For the car’s transport by ship, the company’s written approval is required. Please note that any damage to the vehicle in transit will be not covered by any insurance.

Removal of license plates

In case of removing the license plate because of a traffic offense, the renter will be charged for the disuse of the vehicle.

Loss Of Key

A Loss Of Key Fee applies depending on the vehicle group.

Vehicle Cleaning

In case the car requires a special cleaning procedure (i.e. smell removal, animal pollution, spill of liquids etc.) after returning, a cleaning charge will apply.

V.A.T.

The Value Added Tax is 24% in Greece and it is included in the prices.
